Foreword

The idea for this book came about when the grandchildren started asking questions about what was happening to their Grandpa. I couldn't find age appropriate books for them to read to help them understand. This story is a family's experience with Alzheimer's Disease. It is meant to help my grandchildren and other children understand the stages and changes that take place. It presents the story from the grandchildren's point of view, following the early signs of Alzheimer's to the point where Grandpa has to live in a home, with the end result being death from the disease. Hopefully it will help them deal with the range of feelings they have as a result of this serious debilitating illness.
